BEADED BASKETBALL SHORTS

Inspired by the argyle pattern on the University of North Carolina’s basketball uniforms. UNC’s iconic argyle graphic was created by American fashion designer Alexander Julian.

The beaded basketball shorts are entirely beaded with 2mm seed beads. The body of the shorts features a blue and white argyle pattern with a vertical blue athletic stripe along the sides and interiors of the legs. The waistband was beaded in a trompe-l'œil manner to appear as a cinched athletic waistband. The beads were attached in a vertical manner, contributing to the graphic nature for the piece.

Made in collaboration with New York Embroidery Studio.

CROPPED KNIT SWEATER

Inspired by the diamond shapes present in the University of North Carolina’s iconic argyle pattern. The center of the sweater features intersecting diamonds, an homage to Chapel Hill’s beloved sports team.

The sweater is entirely hand-knit and made from a custom yarn blend created by Shady Acres Farm in Lincolnton, North Carolina. The yarn blend is 50% Mohair, 25% Nygora, 25% French Angora blend). The cropped, short-sleeve sweater features traditional mirrored cables and two sets of double diamond cables. The neckline, sleeve cuffs, and hem of the sweater are ribbed for a clean finish.
