SWEET CHEEKS HOT SHORTS
Inspired by the "Sweet ‘N Low” sugar packets that grace the table of every diner in the South.
The “Sweet ‘N Low” hot shorts are made through a combination of hand beading, embroidery, and felted hand-dyed roving sourced from North Carolina. The piece is inspired by the prevalent diner culture down South and the sugar packets placed on tables at greasy spoons.
HENRIETTA INTARSIA SWEATER
Inspired by a family photograph of my father with his favorite chicken as a child, Henrietta.
The “Henrietta” intarsia sweater is a knit interpretation of my favorite photo of my dad from his childhood. In the photograph, my dad holds his favorite chicken Henrietta infront of his family’s chicken coop. The yarn is 100% Alpaca and was sourced from Shalimar Alpaca in Warwick, New York. The five shades of blue that comprise the intarsia pattern are hand-dyed.
